The Post Graffiti SHOW Reception @the Columbia Museum of Art

The Post Graffiti Show Reception @ the Columbia Museum of Art went well. 400 people came out to the event that highlighted the wall painting done by Izms’ own Cedric Umoja and Mike Krajewski. Chris Wenner was on the wheels while Tribe SK held down the dance floor and did a nice tribute to the late great MC GURU of Gangstarr.

Blue Cross Family Day @ the Columbia Museum of Art

This past Sunday (May 2) Blue Cross Blue Shield held its annual Family & Friend Day. And we were invited to do some live painting. Check out the photos and video below to see the process.

SC AVI (Art Comission) Retreat Columbia, SC

Last weekend (May 14-16) Cedric and I had the opportunity to attend the SC AVI Retreat in Columbia, SC. The retreat featured artist from all over the state, with every genre from visual, acting, poetry, basket weaving, dancing, etc. The retreat touched on a range of topics, from setting up your art as a business, believing in yourself and you art or art form, how to communicate your business plan for grants and loans, how to face your demons, etc. There were also a number of workshops, Cedric lead one on spray painting. Some of the others were drumming, dancing, weaving, etc. The retreat was fun and we’re looking forward to next year. Hopefully in the near future we can interview some of the artist there.

Art – S&S Art Supply Live Painting / Main Street FOA Series

Like every first Thursday, FOA Series showcased artist up and down Main Street. Sandford Greene was set-up in Gotham Cafe, Billy Guess was at Frame of Art, Pamm Collins did some body painting, and there was live poetry on the street. The low point was when Amanda Ladymon’s installation was shut down after her month grind of setting it up, haters are everywhere, I was looking forward to it!

Down at S&S Art Supply Izms, Abraham Mong and other were painting live to kick off the Grand Re-Opening of S&S Art Supply new location on Main Street. The artist used Montana Gold Spray Paints with there pieces, as belly dancing from Delirium Tribal’s Ashara and Natalie Brown went on inside. Shout to Eric Stockard, the new location is a very good look.

Art Show – Future Shock Show – Columbia, SC

Like every first Thursday on Main Street, there was lots to see. From Gotham Cafe to Frame of Mind, the Columbia Museum of Art and the White Mule. Down at S&S Art Supply, Izms along with John Hairston Jr., DJ B, Trublklef & Miles Franco, Fat Rat da Czar & Shekeese Tha Beast did the first installment of Future Shock. Shout to Eric Stockard (Owner of S&S Art Supply). The art work will be up until the end of the month, so go check it out, and also go support S&S Art Supply.
